Rad Web Hosting · Environmental Manifesto

A fossil-free internet by 2030.

The future of the internet should not depend on the fuels of the past. We're building a better standard for digital infrastructure—one powered by clean energy, measurable commitments, and real accountability.

Renewable-powered today. Working toward verifiable, around-the-clock fossil-free operations.

100%

Renewable-powered facilities

All data center facilities currently occupied by Rad Web Hosting use renewable electricity arrangements.

1% of revenue

Committed to carbon removal

Our current minimum contribution, reviewed annually for potential increases as finances permit.

Fossil-free first

Our expansion standard

New locations must already demonstrate 100% fossil-free electricity operation before occupancy.

Solar + storage

Our long-term ambition

Invest in independent solar generation and energy storage to displace externally procured electricity.

Our position

The internet is physical. Its impact is real.

Every website, server, cloud application, and digital transaction depends on energy-consuming infrastructure. As the digital world expands, the responsibility to power it differently becomes more urgent. We believe reliable hosting and environmental responsibility must advance together.

CHAPTER 01

Renewable energy is our starting point—not our finish line.

Today, all data center facilities occupied by Rad Web Hosting are powered through renewable energy arrangements. That commitment forms the foundation of our infrastructure strategy, and shows that dependable, high-performance hosting can coexist with cleaner electricity sourcing.

We also recognize that annual renewable electricity coverage does not necessarily mean every server is supplied by fossil-free electricity during every hour of operation. Our goal is to progress toward demonstrable, around-the-clock fossil-free power.

Renewable-powered today. Verifiably fossil-free tomorrow.
CHAPTER 02

We contribute to removing carbon—not merely accounting for it.

Rad Web Hosting currently dedicates at least 1% of total revenue—not profit—to carbon removal initiatives. This commitment grows in dollar terms as our business grows.

Each year, we review that percentage and evaluate whether a higher contribution is financially sustainable. The review is a firm commitment to consider doing more, not a promise of automatic increases.

Carbon removal complements direct emissions reduction; it does not excuse fossil fuel consumption or replace the need to transition our infrastructure.

As our business grows, our contribution to a healthier planet should grow with it.
CHAPTER 03

Growth must never dilute our standards.

Our policy for future expansion is clear: Rad Web Hosting will not occupy a new data center location unless the facility is already operating on 100% fossil-free electricity, supported by credible evidence of its sourcing and operations.

This standard applies to future regions, geographic expansions, and infrastructure partnerships. Where qualifying facilities are not available, environmental integrity takes priority over expansion speed.

We would rather enter a market later than build on an energy standard we cannot stand behind.
CHAPTER 04

From buying renewable energy to helping produce and store it.

Our long-term strategy looks beyond externally procured renewable power. We intend to develop campaigns and partnerships supporting independent solar photovoltaic generation and battery energy storage.

Solar harvesting, storage, and smarter energy management can help us support clean power across changing weather, demand patterns, and hours of the day. These plans require investment, engineering, and local partnerships; we present them as strategic ambitions, not systems already deployed.

Our destination is greater energy independence—built on solar generation and storage.
CHAPTER 05

Environmental progress must be measurable.

Clear standards matter. We will work to report meaningful evidence of renewable energy sourcing, progress toward hourly fossil-free operation, data center efficiency, carbon removal contributions, and solar generation and storage development.

We will distinguish annual renewable-energy matching from hourly fossil-free electricity, direct emissions reductions from carbon removal, and present accomplishments from future objectives. Where claims rely on third-party facilities, we will seek credible supporting documentation.

CHAPTER 06

Better for the planet. Built for performance.

Our environmental strategy must coexist with reliable, secure, accessible hosting. Efficient servers, thoughtful capacity planning, optimized virtualization, cooling efficiency, and responsible equipment lifecycle management can reduce wasted energy without reducing service quality.

We believe sustainability and high-performance hosting are not opposing goals. Both belong in a better internet.

CHAPTER 07

Our promise to the next generation.

The internet is one of humanity's most important shared achievements. Its future should be defined not just by greater computing power and faster connections, but by the responsibility with which that progress is delivered.

Our journey is not finished. Technology, energy systems, and verification standards will evolve. But our direction will not change: build reliable digital infrastructure while helping eliminate its dependence on fossil fuels.

We believe in an internet that connects the world without depending on fossil fuels.
The 2030 agenda

Seven commitments. One direction.

A measurable path from today's renewable-powered hosting footprint toward a more genuinely fossil-free internet.

Protect our renewable foundation

Maintain renewable electricity sourcing requirements across every occupied facility.

Advance 24/7 fossil-free power

Work toward verifiable hourly matching with fossil-free electricity in our operating regions.

Expand only when ready

Require evidence of 100% fossil-free electricity operation before occupying any new location.

Commit at least 1% of revenue

Continue carbon removal funding and annually evaluate financially feasible increases.

Invest in solar and storage

Develop a pathway toward independently supported clean power generation and battery storage.

Report openly and accurately

Distinguish achieved outcomes from goals and work toward transparent performance reporting.

Advocate for a cleaner industry

Encourage suppliers, partners, and providers to adopt stronger fossil-free energy standards.

The transition

How we intend to move forward

A directional roadmap, not a claim that every milestone has already been achieved.

Today · Established

Renewable-powered infrastructure

Maintain renewable electricity sourcing in occupied facilities and allocate at least 1% of total revenue to carbon removal.

Through 2030 · Transition

Verification and fossil-free expansion

Strengthen hourly clean energy evidence, prioritize energy efficiency, and require fossil-free operation at newly occupied locations.

Long term · Investment

Solar generation + storage

Develop independent solar and battery initiatives to substitute an increasing share of externally sourced electricity.

Clarity over slogans

Our sustainability claims should withstand scrutiny.

We will seek stronger evidence and clearer reporting as our strategy develops. That includes being precise about what has been achieved, what remains dependent on facility partners, and what represents an ambition for the future.

Important distinction: 100% renewable procurement and 100% hourly fossil-free electricity are not equivalent. Carbon removal contributions are separate from electricity sourcing.

Energy sourcing

Renewable arrangements, their scope, and supporting evidence.

Hourly fossil-free progress

Improving visibility into when and where clean electricity is available.

Carbon removal

At least 1% of total revenue, with an annual contribution review.

Independent clean generation

Future solar and storage initiatives, with realized capacity reported when deployed.

Our manifesto · Our responsibility

The future of hosting should be cleaner than its past.

We are committed to building reliable, accessible digital infrastructure while working toward a world in which the internet no longer depends on fossil fuels.

Fossil-Free by 2030.
